Every year we celebrate the Earth Day and all the beauty she provides for us. In a city as vast and concrete as New York City it is tough to sometimes give back and take a step back to enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature. There are various ways you can help or get involved this year.

Queens botanical garden

Planting trees and flowers is a fantastic way to give back and get involved, and there is no better place than Queens Botanical Garden located at 43-50 Main St. Flushing, NY. Here you can plant a tree or take in the beauty of the flowers and blossoming nature the Botanical offers.

honor mother earth

This year marks the ninth year of the annual World Peace Earth Day Celebration which includes various performances, meditation events, and speakers. Located at the St. John’s Lutheran Church (81 Christopher St.), this celebration is a great way to learn about the environment and ways to keep Earth as green as possible.

Party in the park – harlem

On April 25th Morningside Park on 114th Street and Morningside Avenue will be hosting a free festival at the park including arts and crafts, yoga, tree planting, etc. in honor of Earth Day. It will be a great opportunity to enjoy the weather while giving back to the community.

Plant a tree – bronx

You can never plant enough trees, especially on a beautiful day like Earth Day. MillionTreesNYC are holding a free event at Can Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on April 25th for anyone who would love to come plant a shrub or tree. Also, they will help pull weeds which are harming the environment.

What ever you chose to do, make sure you are out there enjoying the weather and giving back to Mother Nature. For more outdoor opportunity updates and news, please visit Daniel Kaufman‘s official website.
